This is a fantastic achievement where we can now demonstrate that, not only do we make fantastic ice cream, but we make it to very stringent standards!

A Interview with James Tregelles, talking about our ice cream and our quality ingredients at the Plymouth Flavour Fest 2011. A great interview- worth a watch.

Star Role in the Salcombe Jack Wills Seasonaire Video
Jack Wills had two seasonaires in five of the most famous seaside towns in the country. Salcombe (the home of Jack Wills) was obviously one, and we were lucky enough to make it into there end of summer film!
Salcombe Dairy Seeing Stars!
To add to the 3 Gold Star awards we received in 2010 for both our wonderfully smooth and rich Devon Cream Ice Cream and for our sensual and sophisticated Mango Sorbet.
To win 3 Star Gold last year was wonderful but to hit the top spot again this year is something only a couple of producers can hope to achieve.
Out of a massive 7,482 entries just 114 products were considered worthy of 3 Gold Stars so credit must go to our fantastic production team who continue to blend top quality ingredients into our superb ice cream to produce something sublime and deservedly award winning.
We also hit gold in three other flavours. Achieving 2 Gold stars each for our, ever popular, Honeycomb and our brand new Seville Orange Sorbet and 1 gold star for our fruity Blackcurrant Sorbet
Last, but definitely not least, we have just heard that our Stem Ginger Ice Cream has been nominated for the Award for the Best Speciality from the South West.
Exciting news!
On Monday 11th July, Charles and Camilla will be visiting Salcome
The best place to see them, of course, will be from the Salcombe Dairy terrace in Island Street.
We are having a party - come and join us!
The Royal Couple will be passing right by our terrace at about 11.30am so why not join us for the best view in town? ..... not to mention the best freshly roasted coffee and the finest ice cream available in Devon.

From all points West, with bells clanging and streamers flying, Salcombe Dairy vans are converging on the classic Georgian metropolis that is downtown Bath. Bringing with them the sultry delights of Latte, Cappuccino and Mocha ice creams for the good people of that fine city and beyond. 'I'd give my bestest feathery hatte for a decent ice cream Mocha.' The late, great Beau Nash was once heard to lament before throwing himself back into the social whirl of 18th Century Bath, and Jane Austen couldn't knock out even half a page without her morning Espresso - how they would both have loved to be heading for Bath Recreation Ground on a fine May weekend. The sensual aroma of exotic coffees drawing them across Pulteney Bridge. Flags rippling in the breeze, crowds of happy people streaming along the classic thoroughfares. All with one aim in mind. To try the finest coffee ice cream that money can buy.
-The author of this entry would like to point out that Salcombe Dairy are unable to exchange ice cream for hats... even nice ones, with feathers.

The sun is still shining and the weather forecasters predict a scorching hot summer. Can we believe them? Of course we can! So what better way to cool down when temperatures reach the predicted 90 degrees than with a delicious Salcombe Dairy ice cream or sorbet.
Looking for something savoury? We now sell the excellent and very tasty Chunk of Devon pies and pasties. You'll find a good selection in our shop and the lovely shop assistant will even warm one up for you.

A new iPhone application championing the region’s local food and drink producers has been launched by Stephens Scown LLP and Taste of the West.
‘Foodfinder SW’ is thought to be one of the first applications of its kind in the UK and is a mobile guide to the best quality producers, retailers and venues in the Westcountry.
The free App lets users find local food and drink producers in their current location and what’s on offer. They can also search for specific suppliers; identify their exact location and how to get to them.
Customers can search by category for a specific product to see where it’s stocked; share their experiences by rating and reviews and get the latest news, food festivals and events and find out what’s coming up in their area.
Members of Taste of the West receive their own profile on the App and will be able to keep their profile updated including specific information about the service or product, special offers, images and where the produce is stocked.

No entry for a while because there have been lots of exciting developments here at Salcombe Dairy and everyone has been fully involved. I cannot say too much at the moment... so watch this space!
The sun continues to shine and it's going to be a particularly fine weekend so, once you've finished on the beach or sampled one of Salcombe's many lovely pubs or shops, why not complete the day with a visit to our factory shop? We are now open 7 days a week and don't forget that, as well as our delicious ice cream, we also sell sandwiches, cakes, crisps, chocolate bars, speciality teas, soft drinks and, of course, great tasting coffee from freshly ground beans.
Want to recapture the atmosphere of Christmas? We also have Christmas Pudding, Mince Pie and Brandy Butter ice creams still available and at reduced prices.

Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to say hello and have a taste of our luxury ice cream at the International Food and Drink Event at the ExCel in London. Everything seemed to run smoothly and we met lots of interesting people. We even had time to wander around and sample a few of the delicious foods on offer from all over the world.
Thanks also to The Spice Inn, Romford Road for a great curry!
Just back from a very successful show at the NEC in Birmingham. Great people, great show and even met Greg Wallace who was very complimentary about our Rum and Raisin!

The sun is out, the birds are singing; the sparkling, gentle waters of Salcombe Ria are lapping the golden sandy beaches. The town is filling up with happy holidaymakers and all is right with the world.

Reports of a strange hooded figure shuffling about in Salcombe Car Park prove to be Kevin, our operations manager, attempting to warm himself up following a session in one of our walk-in freezers. Rumours that he has been been sent there because he won't stop talking about Rooney's wonder goal are unfounded. He's actually covering for someone... honestly!

Just spent the past 3 days at Expo West. It never ceases to amaze us to see the delight on customer's faces when they taste our ice cream for the first time.
Even the competition were raving about our Honeycomb!
Now we just have to make sure that we convert all of our leads into customers so that there are even more opportunities for people to be delighted.

No sign of Salcombe's famous micro-climate today as it continues to be very chilly in the town. The sun is out though and it's business as normal as the factory staff prepare for tomorrow's production as well as finding time for those little tasks that tend to be put to one side during the busy summer months.
